Baking stones for home ovens

Bring true stone-baked cooking to the oven you already have. The same commercial-grade material supplied to working kitchens, sized for a home oven —

for better bottom heat, more consistent results, and an end to guessing about sizing, placement, and care.

What changes on a stone

Better bottom heat: a hot, stable surface directly under the food instead of a thin pan in moving air. The results show in the base first — crispier bases, stronger browning, and improved crust texture on pizza, flatbreads, and bread.

Grilled cheese, quesadillas, and toasted sandwiches crisp on top and bottom without flipping, and reheats come back with texture instead of going soft.

Get the size right first

Measure the width and depth of the rack the stone will sit on and subtract two inches from each measurement — that leaves approximately one inch of clearance on all sides for airflow. The sizing guide walks through it with a printable worksheet, and the first-use guide covers the cold-start procedure that keeps a stone whole.

If the size you need doesn’t exist, the same stone can be custom cut to your oven.

Conditions of the guarantee

  • Always bring the stone up from a room-temperature oven. Never place a cold stone into a preheated oven.
  • Allow 30 to 45 minutes for the stone to reach operating temperature before loading food.
  • Allow the stone to cool gradually in the oven. Do not remove it hot or cool it with forced air or liquid.
  • Keep water and ice off a hot stone. When adding steam, place the water pan on the oven floor, never in contact with the stone.
  • Keep wet and greasy items off the stone surface — use a pan, cookie sheet, parchment, or foil.
  • Never place the stone directly on a heating element or in direct contact with open flame. Grills and open-flame applications require a metal flame diverter.
  • Maintain approximately one inch of clearance on all sides for airflow.
